Handling Config Files:

Config files may contain sensitive information about our app, making it best practice to not put them out on the public repo. Hence, we share them privately among team members. Currently, we require two JSON config files: credentials.json and google-services.json, crucial for Google Sign-In functionality.

  • 1. Download credentials.json and google-services.json from our GrowWithGoogleTeam Slack team. If you wish to be invited, send your email to madonahsyombua@gmail.com.
  • 2. Copy the downloaded files into the app folder of your project:
    • a. Open the Devs-Portfolio-App application on Android Studio.
    • b. Change the file explorer view to Project (the default view is usually Android).
    • c. Right-click the app folder and paste the config files.
  • 3. Rebuild the project.

  • Ensure that all necessary JSON configuration files are correctly placed within the app directory.
  • Make sure to rebuild the project after adding or modifying configuration files.
